Switching from spectacles to contacts.
Many people find great satisfaction by switching between their glasses and contact lenses. This provides the freedom of choosing one that may be better suited to a particular activity or mood for the wearer. However, it's not simply a matter of transferring your glasses prescription over to contacts. If you are thinking of making the switch from your usual spectacles to more regular contact lens use, you will need to visit your local Specsavers optometrist first. Providing you have an up to date prescription, the optometrist with take you through a contact lens consultation and make a recommendation on the type and brand of contacts that would be best for you.
It is often necessary to have two different prescriptions for specs and contact lenses because of the way that they work with the eye. Contact lenses are in contact with the eye whereas specs are further away; hence the prescription your optometrist will give you may be different because of the way your eye focuses through the respective lenses. The contact lens specification will also include further details about the shape and material of the lenses that accurately fit your eyes.
