If you read the New Zealand Herald, you may have seen an article about the number of top end properties coming up for sale in recent weeks. So you may be interested to know the sales statistics for that market over the past six months. Certainly there have been some great sales and the market both for top end residential homes in Auckland and beach or coastal properties at Waiheke Island has been strong.

Looking at the sales results, Remuera, being one of the largest suburbs in the top end market has had 22 sales over the past six months over $3 million, with the top price being a sale at $12 million. Epsom & Parnell are in second place with 10 sales each with the highest sales being $5,000,000 and $5,200,000 respectively. Herne Bay leads the pack on the other side of the city with 8 sales while Waiheke Island recorded 4 sales over $3 million. The balance of the suburbs from Glendowie through to Grey Lynn had a mix of between 1 – 3 sales at $3 million or over.

Total sales numbers during this period equated to 75 sales for a total value of over $300 million. By comparison in the same period in 2013/2014 the total sales were 50, with a total value just over $191 million.

Clearly confidence has returned to this end of the market, it has taken longer since the GFC but clearly it is back on track now. If you are thinking of selling and want an honest indication on the value of your property, please feel free to give me a all or send me an email, I would love to help.
