He announced he was checking into rehab to battle his struggles with substance abuse and depression late last month.
And now it has been reported that Ant McPartlin, 41, intends to leave his treatment facility in the next month as he aims to front the next installment of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in November, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The TV host bravely entered rehab in June after confirming he had spiralled into depression and substance abuse following a painful knee injury and fertility issues.
And while trying to focus on his career, the publication reports that Ant is first set for an emotional reunion with his wife Lisa and TV sidekick Declan Donnelly, after almost two months apart. Â
A source close to Ant told the Sunday Mirror: 'He is doing really well. It has been a tough few weeks but he is coming through it and is now over the worst of it. Ant has been very brave and is totally committed to his recovery. Â
'Lisa is desperate to see Ant and she is expected to visit him shortly. Dec will be also seeing him soon. It’s bound to be emotional but Ant knows that Dec will be there for him every step of the way.
Overcoming his demons and making strides in his recovery, those close to him have insisted that the ITV star will be honouring his commitments and back fronting I'm Celeb in November. Â
The insider added: 'With his commitment and new-found strength, those close to him believe he will be back on TV in November. It’s something he is working towards and focusing on.'Â
MailOnline have contacted Ant McPartlin's representatives and an I'm A Celeb's spokesperson for comment.
Despite his eagerness to get back to work, ITV bosses were previously said to completely back his decision, clearing his schedule to give him a year off work in the wake of his health battle.
At the time an ITV source told The Sun: 'He’s got our total backing and he knows he can take as much time as he needs. If there’s anything we can do to support him in getting better then of course he only needs to ask – he’s a huge part of the ITV family and that isn’t going to change.'
News of his impending emotional meeting with his nearest and dearest comes after The Sun reported that after 4 weeks at the treatment facility, he is now taking trips out of the facility.
A source said: 'He's doing very well considering everything he's been through and is happy at being allowed to leave the centre with one of the staff. He is in good spirits and on the road to recovery.'
It comes after his closest confidant Dec previously revealed he would only return to the show with his long-time co-host at his side, denying reports that Holly Willoughby would be stepping into his shoes if he needed more time to recover.Â
Announcing his demons, Ant released a statement to the Sun ahead of checking into rehab which read: 'The first step is to admit to yourself you need help. I've let people down. I'm truly sorry.
'I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I'm truly sorry. I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends through this really difficult time.
'I have spoken out because I think it is important that people ask for help if they are going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.'
He has been battling his condition for two years after an operation on his knee went wrong, leaving him in constant pain.Â
Following his knee operation he began taking the opioid painkiller Tramadol and became addicted.
I'm a Celebrity is one of ITV's most popular shows, regularly pulling in more than 10 million viewers a night in November and early December.
Ant and Dec are ITV's star duo and have racked up 16 National Television Awards for Best Presenter.
The pair, who have hosted I'm a Celebrity since the show's beginnings in 2002, also present two of the channel's highest rated shows; Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain's Got Talent.Â
