Billy Joel performs “Los Angelenos” for the first time in 42 years

Billy Joel likes to mix up his set lists for his Madison Square Garden residency and last night he pulled out a song he hasn't performed live since 1981.

After a few minutes chatting, he launched into the track, prefacing it by saying: “Speaking of Los Angeles … this next song is about Los Angeles. We never do this song, we haven’t done this since the ’80s, I think, so we’ll give it a shot.”

 “Los Angelenos” first appeared on his 1974 album Streetlife Serenade and then on his 1981 live album Songs In The Attic. He last performed it live in July 1981, in Huntington, New York.
