Blue, the three-legged dog from the heartwarming Trustpower ad, has passed away

It's with heavy hearts that we share that Blue, the three-legged dog from the heartwarming Trustpower ad, has passed away.

The adorable little pooch – who became a viral sensation last year after starring in the electrical company's heartwarming 90-second commercial - passed away peacefully at the age of 15.

Blue's devastated owner shared the sad news with his legions of fans on Instagram.

Alongside a collection of photos of the beloved canine, they wrote: "Yesterday, Blue gained his well deserved Angel Wings.

"As I stroked his soft fur and told him how much I loved him, and how so very proud of him I am, he peacefully left me."

They continued: "His mind was willing, but his body was tired. I feel so privileged to have spent nearly 15½ years with him in my live. He made me laugh with his crazy Beardie antics, right to the end.

"Blue gave so many people joy, from watching him compete in agility, as an SPCA Outreach dog, demanding tummy rubs, to his Trustpower tv advert.

"My world suddenly feels so very empty, but after a trip to the beach, letting him go with his dignity, under the shade of his favourite tree, listening to the birds and cicadas, smelling all those wonderful rural smells, was my last gift to give him.

"R.I.P now my wonderful Bloopy, Blue-est of the Blue Dogs 🌈 💙"
