Cher sparks engagement rumours after sharing picture of diamond ring from her boyfriend

The rumour mill is in overdrive that Cher got engaged to her 36-year-old boyfriend over the Christmas holidays.

The legendary singer took to Twitter to share a photo of what appears to be a diamond engagement ring being held by her new beau, Alexander 'AE' Edwards.

Alongside the image, the 'Believe' hitmaker wrote: "THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER, A.E."

The picture shows a stunning teardrop centre diamond surrounded by a band of smaller diamonds nestled in a black velvet jewellery box.

AE, a music executive, is holding the box with two fingers that feature black and lime-green painted nails.

Cher's followers immediately started responding with questions about the ring's meaning and if wedding bells were in the future.

In response, the 76-year-old brushed off the speculation by simply saying: "I posted this cause his nails are so cool."

Cher was first linked to AE when they were spotted holding hands in West Hollywood in November.

The music icon was previously married to the late Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, with whom she shared sons Chaz and Elijah, respectively.
