"I am absolutely blown away by my Barbie"
To mark International Women's Day this year, Barbie have honoured eight women with one-of-a-kind Barbies in their likeness, as part of their Role Models series to celebrate their inspiring stories.Â
2024 Barbie Role Models:
- Viola Davis (United States): Actress, activist, author
- Shania Twain (Canada): Musician, style icon
- Helen Mirren (United Kingdom): Actress, advocate for women
- Kylie Minogue (Australia): Musician
- Maira Gomez (Brazil): Content creator

Dame Helen's Barbie is in a beautiful long blue dress, based on the dress she wore to the 2023 Cannes red carpet. The doll is also holding a miniature blue fan which is one of her trademark red carpet accessories – and a tiny Oscar statue, representing her 2007 Academy Awards Best Actress win.

Dame Helen said, "I am absolutely blown away by my Barbie. To be chosen by Barbie as a Role Model is a huge compliment and something I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams happening to me at this stage in my life.
"It's a very special thing, and something I can add to my list of my favourite achievements; becoming a Dame of the British Empire, having an Oscar, having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - and having my own Barbie!"
Popstars Kylie Minogue and Shania Twain have also been honoured, Kylie's Barbie wearing a stunning red outfit and long red cape as a nod to her recent 'Padam Padam' era.
Shania's Barbie lookalike is fitted out in a black top hat and outfit, reminiscent of her 1999 Man! I Feel Like A Woman! music video.
The one-of-a-kind dolls were created especially for the role models and will not be sold in stores, but instead are given to each woman for the work they've done.
The release of this year's Role Model Barbie line also coincides with Barbie's 65th birthday, which is March 9.
