Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler has released a charity single with 54 other guitarists

Former Dire Straits' main man and guitar icon Mark Knopfler has brought together 54 guitar icons to record a charity single of his song Going Home (Theme From Local Hero).

This charity single includes the likes of guitar royalty: Slash, David Gilmore, Bruce Springsteen, Brian May, Tony Iommi, Pete Townshend, Ronnie Wood, Joan Jett and more.

Mark's longtime collaborator Guy Fletcher edited the contributions into the 9-minute piece while the cover image was designed by pop art icon and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band designer Peter Blake.

This version opens with the final recorded guitar track by the late Jeff Beck, making it even more special.
