Elton John and Britney Spears release stunning stripped-down piano rendition of their duet 'Hold Me Closer'

Sir Elton John and Britney Spears made a hit song with their duet 'Hold Me Closer' when it was released in August - and now they're taking it one step further with a stunning new acoustic rendition of the single.

The 75-year-old music legend and the pop Princess dropped the stripped-down, piano-based version of the track overnight.

A three-minute music video to accompany the acoustic rendition features Olympic gold medalist ice skater Nathan Chen.

The single marked Spears' return to music and her first release since 2016, following the end of her 13-year-long conservatorship in November 2021.

Elton has seen big success this year with re-recorded duets of his past hits. He and Dua Lipa scored a hit with 'Cold, Cold Heart,' a mashup of his hits 'Rocket Man' and 'Sacrifice.'
