Elton John shares rare family photo with his sons on holiday in France

Sir Elton John and David Furnish's two sons have remained largely out of the spotlight, with the singer asking for fans to respect his private life.

But yesterday, the proud dad took to Instagram to give fans a rare glimpse of Zachary, ten, and Elijah, eight, enjoying their time in France.

The photo shows the young boys wearing personalised Versace robes as they overlooked the stunning view in Nice with their famous dads.

Alongside the photos, the 74-year-old wrote: "Grazie mille @donatella_versace. Thank-you for your generosity and kindness.

"You made our Summer so glamorous. Ti amo."

The last time the 'Tiny Dancer' hitmaker gave fans a glimpse of his sons was in the family's viral Christmas video from mid-December last year.

Elton and David, whom he legally married in 2014, have previously revealed that they would have loved another child but that the 'Rocketman' hitmaker thinks he's too old now.

Elton became a first-time dad at the age of 61 when Zachary was born via surrogate in December 2010.

Elijah was born to the same mother in January 2013.
