Oscar-winning Kiwi actress Anna Paquin has built an incredible CV, but is now lined up for surely her biggest role to date.

The 35-year-old will star in a new film alongside Hollywood legends Robert De Niro and Al Pacino  — in a movie directed by Martin Scorcese.

The True Blood actress will play Peggy whose father (De Niro) is the title character, Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a reputed hitman suspected of involvement in the 1975 disappearance of American union leader Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino).

The Netflix movie is a Godfather reunion for the three silver screen heavyweights who, between them, boast 23 Oscars and many more nominations.

Paquin posted to social media this week: “Fine line between crazy excited and insanely nervous #workingwithidols.”

Paquin’s Peggy is strong-willed and despises the lifestyle Frank has chosen for himself. She becomes estranged from her father and attracted to Hoffa and all that he stands for.

The Irishman boasts an all-star cast including Bobby Cannavale and Ray Romano  — and also reunites Paquin with her Piano co-star Harvey Keitel. It is being shot in New York and is expected to get an Oscar-qualifying theatrical release.
