The Heartbreaking Reason Behind Stan Walker Postponing His Upcoming Tour

Kiwi pop star Stan Walker is postponing his upcoming tour to help his mother recover from breast cancer.

The Australian Idol winner shared the news with 'whanau and friends' tonight on social media.

Whanau & friends....

It is with sadness I need to postphone my tour. I need to be with my Mum whilst she goes through & recovers from breast cancer. All we need as a family is your love and prayers" Stan.

"Whanau & friends, It is with sadness I need to postpone my tour," Walker wrote.

"It is with sadness I need to postphone my tour [sic]. I need to be with my Mum whilst she goes through & recovers from breast cancer. All we need as a family is your love and prayers."

Walker's label Sony Music also issued an official statement confirming the cancellation and passing on his apologies to his fans.

"He hopes fans understand the importance of him dedicating this time to his family," it reads.

"Stan also wants to thank his fans and the media for respecting the privacy of him and his family at this time."

Walker, 25, planned to tour New Zealand during November, with a final concert in Auckland on the 19th.
