John Farnham is officially cancer-free and ‘super positive’ a year after mouth surgery

John Farnham’s son, Robert, appeared on Sunrise in Australia to share the news that we’ve all been waiting to hear: his legendary father is officially cancer-free!

In August 2022, John Farnham was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent a gruelling 12-hour operation to remove a mouth tumour. The surgery also reportedly required 26 surgeons.

Nearly twelve months later, Robert has revealed that John is “cancer-free” and feeling “really, really happy”.

Robert added, “He’s doing fantastic. Just the other day, he was, you know, walking around with his cane and did a little bit of a dance, which was pretty fabulous.

“He’s walking with his dog a lot — so he’s really, really happy.”

And to the delight of everyone who’s grown up loving Farnham’s music, Robert said: “He sings at home again, the whole thing.”
