The moving documentary about one of Australia’s most iconic singers, John Farnham: Finding The Voice, took home an award at the Logies (Australia's TV Week Awards) yesterday.

Finding The Voice beat out Hot Potato: The Story Of The Wiggles, Matildas: The World At Our Feet, Nemesis, Revealed: Ben Roberts-Smith Truth On Trial, and War On Waste to win the award for Best Factual or Documentary Program.

Also at the awards, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy paid tribute to the legendary singer. Guy performed Burn For You with a choir and band, and Jessica led a duet of You’re The Voice.

John wasn’t in attendance but some of his closest friends and family, including his sons, Rob and James, Gaynor Wheatley, and the documentary’s director, Poppy Stockell, accepted the award.

On Sunrise last week, John's sons confirmed that their dad remains in remission and recovery from cancer.

Earlier this year John's debut memoir, The Voice Inside, was announced.

The book will explore his upbringing in Melbourne in the '60s, releasing the highest-selling Australian album of all time, Whispering Jack, his decades-long touring career, and his story of resilience.

As well as the successes, he will also share the downs, including the years in which his career stalled, facing debts, triumphing through adversity, even against mouth cancer, and moving forward after the heartbreaking loss of his long-time friend and manager Glenn Wheatley.
