John Farnham's family shares health update on respiratory infection months after major surgery

Over the weekend his wife, Jill Farnham, and the pair’s sons issued an update on John's condition following the 12-hour operation to remove his mouth cancer last August.

“John has been receiving ongoing treatment, care and rehabilitation support over recent months from his medical team. He is currently being treated for a respiratory infection in hospital, but he is comfortable and receiving the very best care."

“He’s always been a strong and determined person with everything he’s ever done and we are all so very proud of him,” she said.

“He’s responding well to the specialist care he’s receiving.”

The 73-year-old underwent the 12-hour surgery at a Melbourne hospital last August, to remove a cancerous growth in his mouth, prompting an outpouring of love from fans across Australia and the world.
