Right from his birth in 1963, John Lennon's son Julian Lennon always looked to Paul McCartney as a father figure.
And, understandably, the 59-year-old grew even closer to "Uncle Paul" following his dad's tragic murder in 1980.
So it will come as no surprise they're still in touch ... and they have a very sweet way of maintaining contact.
Speaking to Rock and Roll Garage, he revealed: "Paul and I do keep in touch. We send each other cards for Christmas and birthdays.
"But it's difficult, he is touring all over the world like the Energizer bunny he doesn't stop."
Now a musician, too, he added: "That's someone to definitely look up to in regards to longevity in a career."
Despite having McCartney as a father figure growing up, Julian admitted he still remembers "simple" moments with John, however, "sadly too few."
"I just remember sitting on a roof with him before mum and dad separated, looking at the sun going down … it's simple moments like that. Sadly too few," he recalled.
On the evening of 8 December 1980, John was shot and fatally wounded in the archway of the Dakota, his residence in New York City.
