Labour MP and Justice Minister Kiri Allan has announced she's engaged to radio presenter Māni Dunlop!
Taking to Instagram last night, Dunlop shared all the details of Kiri's proposal.
Alongside a photo of Dunlop showing off her new ring, she wrote: "A very on brand proposal as a boarding call at the airport ushered her away so we forgot to get a photo. 'Who said romance is dead' she proclaimed as she walked away.
"I wouldn’t have it any other way - love you, love our girls - our whānau and our hectic but lucky lives."
Allan also posted on social media alongside a photo of Dunlop: "She said yes."
The pair have been together for about three years.
They live between the East Coast and Wellington with their blended family which includes two daughters.
The wonderful news comes after Allan revealed in April last year she had been diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer - with just a 13 per cent chance of survival.
Allan used her diagnosis to urge other wāhine to get smear tests, saying the late Talei Morrison's rallying calls for women, particularly Māori women, to get tested regularly was the push she needed to get it done previously.
