Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' is making a major comeback thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine

For the first time in thirty-five years, Madonna's Like A Prayer is climbing the charts again - thanks to Marvel's latest blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine.

Starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as the lead superhero characters, Deadpool & Wolverine has proved to be a massive hit in cinemas, recently passing one billion in sales.

Naturally, the film's massive success has led to a huge uptick in the popularity of Madonna's 1989 hit which featured extensively in the film’s official trailer and in the movie.

Like A Prayer was a major hit for the popstar in the UK after its initial release, debuting at number two before climbing to the top spot and staying there for three weeks. 

In New Zealand, it debuted at number three on the RIANZ Singles Chart before hitting number one the following week. It stayed on our chart for 13 total weeks.

Like A Prayer also topped the charts in the US and went on to sell over five million copies, becoming one of the best-selling singles ever.
