Thirty classic cars are up for grabs this weekend, in a major sale of a private collection.
Wellington businessman Roy Savage is parting with half of his collection of vintage cars, selling them through auction house Mossgreen-Webb's. Many of them are classics of post-war Britain.
His son, John Savage, said they're reducing the collection to make maintenance easier.
"We are keeping the ones that we have emotional connections to. Like my grandfather's car, the family Holden, my father's original car he set up his businesses in."
He said the viewing days have been packed, but it's getting the attention of serious buyers as well as envious enthusiasts.
"We're getting requests from all over the world. There's lots of phone bidders, we've made videos of all the cars. They've all had photographs done, and reports done.
"I spent a good part of Monday making videos of the engines running, to send to prospective buyers."
The cars go under the hammer on Sunday at 2.30pm, at 19 Omahi Street, Waikanae.
