Lily Collins has shared adorable new photos of her newborn daughter, Tove, just weeks after announcing her arrival.
The Emily in Paris actress and her husband, Charlie McDowell, shared the wonderful news of Tove Jane McDowell's birth in a joint Instagram post.
“Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell,” the pair wrote, alongside a photo of their baby daughter.
Now, Lily has given fans a closer look at their growing family, posting a series of sweet snapshots.
One photo captures Lily, Charlie, and baby Tove lying in bed together, joined by their beloved dog, Redford.
Another sweet image shows Lily cradling her daughter, simply captioned, "Mom mode..."
After the pair announced Tove's birth, they received criticism from some fans for welcoming a child via a surrogate.
Charlie responded to hateful comments, writing underneath his wife’s post, “In regards to the unkind messages about surrogacy and our path to having a baby - it’s ok to not be an expert on surrogacy.
“It’s ok to not know why someone might need a surrogate to have a child. It’s ok to not know the motivations of a surrogate regardless of what you assume. And it’s ok to spend less time spewing hateful words into the world, especially in regards to a beautiful baby girl who has brought a lot of love into people’s lives.”
He concluded by writing, “That’s all for now because she just pooped and I need to change her diaper.”
The couple did not share their reasons for using a surrogate, though Lily has previously opened up about her fears surrounding fertility after experiencing an eating disorder.
“I was terrified I had ruined my chances of having kids,” she wrote in her 2017 memoir Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me, Lily.
