Prince William and Princess Kate reveal Jacinda Ardern supported them when the Queen died in heartfelt personal message

The Prince and Princess of Wales have personally thanked Jacinda Ardern for her work as New Zealand’s Prime Minister as she resigns from the role today.

Prince William and Princess Kate took to Twitter to express their gratitude to the former leader of the Labour Party.

In their social media post, the couple wrote: "Thank you Jacinda Ardern for your friendship, leadership and support over the years, not least at the time of my grandmother’s death.

"Sending you, Clarke and Neve our best wishes. W & C."

In September, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Jacinda flew to the UK to pay her respects at the coffin of the late Queen.

She later held an audience with a grieving Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle.
