Queen Elizabeth II often treats her fans to portraits of the royal family, but she still saves some pictures for her eyes only.
While presenting concert organist Thomas Trotter with the Queen's Medal for Music today, the 95-year-old monarch was photographed inside Windsor Castle.
And, of course, eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but notice a very sweet selection of family snaps displayed on a table behind her – including one thought to be previously unseen.
If you look past the pair's handshake, you’ll notice the never-before-seen family photo next to where the Her Majesty's black purse is sitting.
The portrait features Queen Elizabeth and her late husband, Prince Philip, posing with five of their great-grandchildren; Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, Prince George, Mia Tindall and Princess Charlotte.
Perched happily on her great-grandmother's lap seems to be Princess Charlotte (who is a baby at the time), with her older brother Prince George standing beside them in the middle wearing a navy jumper.
While Savannah and Isla are at opposite ends of the couch, Mia is sitting in between her great-grandparents.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when the photo was taken, however, as Prince Louis, Lena Tindall, Lucas Tindall, Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, August Brooksbank and Sienna Mapelli Mozzi aren’t pictured, it's likely the image was taken prior to 2018.
Further along the table is the iconic photo of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, with seven of their great-grandchildren, which was released prior to Philip's funeral in April 2021 and included Lena and Louis as babies.
The photo was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge at the Queen's Scottish home, Balmoral Castle.
Such beautiful family photos!
