While she may be one of the most famous women in the world, that hasn't stop Queen Elizabeth II from taking a moment to thank a group of carers.

The monarch - who was video chatting from Windsor Castle where she is currently self-isolating - surprised the four carers to talk about their recent experiences of caring (unpaid) for vulnerable people as part of Carers Week 2020.

"It's interesting listening to all your tales," Her Majesty told Alex, Amna, Mary and Nadia.

"And I'm very impressed by what you have achieved already. I'm very glad to have been able to join you today."

The video call not only marks the first public video call the Queen has taken part in, though she is thought to have privately called members of her family during lockdown, but also makes her the first monarch to engage in a video call.

The Queen was joined by her daughter Anne, the Princess Royal for the call.

How awesome!
