Queen's Brian May performs stunning acoustic rendition of 'Love of My Life' at Taylor Hawkins tribute concert

Over the weekend, some of the biggest names in rock music took to the stage at London's Wembley Stadium to celebrate the life of the Foo Fighter's late drummer, Taylor Hawkins ...

Including Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

While it was no secret Hawkins was a superfan of the British rock icons, often performing lead vocals on a cover of 'Somebody To Love' at his concerts - May made sure to pay his respects with a stunning acoustic performance of 1975's 'Love Of My Life.'

Before playing the song, the legendary Queen guitarist told the crowd: "I did not write this song, it was written by a young boy called Freddie Mercury. And in 1986, we were on this exact spot, singing this song together.

"And in 1992, exactly 30 years ago, we said goodbye to Freddie in a style similar to this – so I know that Freddie would be very happy to use this song to honour Taylor Hawkins. But here's the deal: I don't sing this song, we all sing this song together. Alright?"

The Wembley show is the first of two Hawkins tribute concerts, with the second one taking place in Los Angeles later this month.

Hawkins died in March aged 50 after being found unresponsive in his Colombia hotel room during the Foo Fighters' South American leg of their global tour.
