On September 8, 2022, the world witnessed the end of an era when Queen Elizabeth II died at her beloved Balmoral estate in Scotland at the age of 96, after a 70-year reign.

Now, two years on, we're looking back at couple of our favourite moments of the late monarch.

"Ma'amalade sandwich Your Majesty?"

One of the standout moments from the Queen's Platinum Jubilee was when she met Paddington Bear, warming the hearts of everyone watching when she sat down for tea with the famous bear.

"That was the final image of the Queen for many people - that's what they remember, and so they associate her with Paddington." said Karen Jankel, daughter of Paddington creator Michael Bond.

James Bond & Queen Elizabeth

In 2012, Queen Elizabeth surprised the world - and her family - when she appeared alongside Daniel Craig’s James Bond in a skit for the London Olympic Opening Ceremony.

According to Production stage manager Sam Hunter, “The Queen never told her family she was doing it. That was one of the stipulations when she agreed to be part of it.”

The Queen's Green Garden

In 2017, David Attenborough appeared alongside the Queen in a documentary titled The Queen's Green Planet. The pair stroll through the Buckingham Palace gardens, pausing to chat every now and then.

At one point, the Queen came upon a particularly strange looking plant noting that it "does not seem to be doing very well," joking that "somebody sat on it I think at a garden party."
