Ronan Keating pays emotional tribute to his mum 25 years after her passing

It has been 25 years since Ronan Keating lost his mother following a long battle with breast cancer.

And in a poignant tribute to his late mum Marie, the Boyzone star took to social media to share an emotional message on the anniversary of her passing.

Posting a video on Instagram, Ronan looked sombre as he reflected on the loss of his mum.

"25 years ago today we lost our mum Marie to breast cancer. It's really devastating because it was one of the most curable forms of breast cancer.

"We miss her as much today as we did on the day that it happened. Thank you for all the support you've given the Marie Keating Foundation across Ireland, across the world for the last 25 years."

Ronan revealed the foundation had teamed up with 100k In 30 Days, adding that "for the month of June, I'm going to be running 100k across the month" to raise awareness.

Tuesday 2 February marked 25 years since Marie's sad passing at the age of 51 in 1998.
