The Breakers have remarkably claimed their fourth ANBL Championship title, with a dramatic 83-81 win over the Cairns Taipans on the North Shore.

Scores were locked at 81 apiece with just 1.2 seconds on the clock, when Ekene Ibekwe landed a two-point buzzer beater to win the game, and wrap up the finals series with a game to spare.

The Breakers rallied from six points down with three minutes remaining in the game, to level the scores at 79-all with 17 seconds remaining.

Two successful crunch free throws from Breakers captain Mika Vukona then gave the Breakers a two-point advantage, before Scottie Wilbekin landed two attempts from the line to level the scores at 81 all.

Ibekwe's remarkable two-pointer avoided the game heading into overtime, and gives the Kiwi club its fourth championship title in five years.
