Updated 10.28am: A remarkable turnaround from the West Indies.

After falling to a new low by losing to Ireland, the Windies have crushed Pakistan by 150 runs in Christchurch and now believe they can win the Cricket World Cup.

West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell says they've proved a point.

"We want to show the world that we aren't just a pushover. We are always a good team and we can fight."

Russell says when the likes of Gayle and Samuels peak they'll score more than 350 with the bat.

However it was a horror day for Darren Bravo both on and off the cricket pitch.

Bravo was forced to leave the field with a hamstring injury, shortly after being hit in the head by a throw at the stumps.

Now, he finds himself facing an ICC reprimand for swearing while laying injured on the ground.

He will miss at least two matches through the hamstring injury.

Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has urged his players to forget about their miserable start to the Cricket World Cup.

He says it's up to the players to turn things around.

"As a bowler, fielder or bastmen you have to go into the middle and perform. We're not doing that at the moment."

He says they have to positively prepare for their next games and try to win the rest of their pool matches.

Pakistani cricket fans in the southeastern city of Multan have held mock funerals for their national cricket team.

Residents of the city organised a symbolic funeral procession, complete with a coffin with several cricket bats placed over it.

They're quoted as saying they won't be watching the team anymore.

Australia's match against Bangladesh in Brisbane has been washed out and the points have been shared.
