Wheels fall off Breakers run

The Breakers are convinced they are still championship material despite stumbling into the playoffs.

After losing 81-77 to top of the table Cairns at Vector Arena, the New Zealand ANBL franchise will play Adelaide in a three game semi final series.

Adelaide are in red hot form, after winning their last 10 games.

The Breakers have now lost three of their final four home games, but coach Dean Vickerman isn't swayed.

"I still believe this is a group that loves big moments, they're never going to quit."

He believes the group is championship material and have a crucial never say die attitude.

The opening game of the series is on Thursday at Auckland's Vector Arena.
