Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin have reconciled one month after filing for divorce

Sylvester Stallone and his wife had decided to go their separate ways after 25 years of marriage, but have since had a "reawakening."

Jennifer Flavin filed paperwork to end her marriage with the Rocky star in August, but the couple later put their differences aside and got back together with their lawyers dismissing the divorce petition.

At the time, the 54-year-old model claimed the marriage is "irretrievably broken" and has requested the couple's shared assets are "equitably distributed" between them.

The 76-year-old actor has now opened up about the "near-divorce" and insisted he has learned some valuable lessons, telling the SundayTimes newspaper: "Let’s just say that it was a very tumultuous time.

"There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn."

Stallone and Flavin reconciled in September a month after filming for divorce, with the actor’s representative saying: "They decided to meet back up at home, where they talked and were able to work out their differences. They are both extremely happy."

Stallone and Flavin married in May 1997 after 10 years of dating.

The couple share three daughters together, Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20.
