It seems the countdown to Christmas has officially begun ...
The Backstreet Boys are getting into the festive spirit a little early this year with the announcement they're releasing their first-ever Christmas album!
"It's been nearly 30 years in the making but we're FINALLY putting out a Christmas album and couldn't be more excited to share it with you all," the beloved boy band - made up of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson - wrote on Instagram.
The album, titled A Very Backstreet Christmas, is set to be released on October 14 and will feature a selection of classics and three originals, including their take on WHAM!'s 'Last Christmas,' 'White Christmas,' 'Silent Night' and 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.'
Dorough admitted the quintet finally found time to make their first Christmas album during the onset of the pandemic when their Backstreet Boys' DNA World Tour, which originally began in 2019, had to stop halfway through.
"Believe it or not COVID gave us the gift of time to work on this record," he said.
"We started working on this about two years ago. Normally, during regular times, we're always on tour. So, now that we have the time off we started working on it."
We can't wait to hear the album!
