U2's opening performance of their Las Vegas residency at the Sphere has been highly anticipated all year and they did not disappoint!
It was U2's first full live concert since 2019 as well as the first time since October 1978 that the group performed without drummer Larry Mullen, who is currently dealing with health issues.
They performed hits such as One, With or Without You, and Where the Streets Have No Name.
Thousands of fans, and many celebrities including Paul McCarthy, Elizabeth Banks, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Orlando Bloom, were in attendance to witness the first show performed inside the 111.5-meter-tall venue (366 feet).
The USD$2.3-billion Sphere is fully decked out, with 167,000 speakers, a 16k wraparound LED screen and even humanoid robots to greet guests in the foyer.
“What a fancy pad,” Bono said when talking about the venue.
