Watch Christchurch's Middleton Grange students incredible musical medley

Students from Christchurch's Middleton Grange School have showcased their musical talents with an impressive musical medley as the opening item at their 2024 Performing Arts Awards evening.

The five-and-a-half-minute-long video combines songs from four popular musicals: Wicked, Newsies, Hercules, & Matilda. 

The medley features four iconic musical numbers: Seize The Day, Defying Gravity, Go The Distance, & Revolting Children, and it was performed by their senior performance groups and the leads from their Middle school show, The Lion King Jr.

The soloist's were Zeph Atienza, Shanna Moe, Lucas Bennetts, Zach Prince, Zoe Bartlett, Keira Wilson, and Lucas Tan. 

Ethan Walter, a year 13 student, was the pianist and also arranged the music alongside Joel Tempero.

The video, which you can watch above, was created by Joel Tempero (Tempero Creative and The Grange Theatre Manager) and Rhian Horn (MGS performing arts co-ordinator).

This is not the first time Middleton Grange School students have impressed with their musical talent. In 2023, they performed a rendition of Another Day Of Sun from La La Land, which you can watch below.
