Why Jack P Shepard (David Platt) from Coronation Street received $10,000 from the death of a New Zealand fan

He’s not exactly known for being a very nice character on Coronation St, but it turns out that Jack P Shepard’s character is adored by someone over here.

In an Instagram ‘Ask Me Anything’ post that Jack was doing with his co-star Julia, he was asked ‘What is the kindest thing a fan has ever done for you?’

Almost instantly Jack recalled the moment that he received a hefty sum of money from our shores:

"Gave me five grand in their will. From New Zealand, a fan. Died and gave me ten percent of his estate which was five grand so cheers."

Despite thanking the fan it seemed that Jack was more confused than anything when talking about the donation.

Jack didn't give any hints as to what he did with the money after he received it, but fans were quick to ask whether he donated it or not.
