It has only taken nine days, but the Queen’s granddaughter finally has a name!

A spokesperson has revealed on behalf of the couple that she has been named Lena Elizabeth, which is believed to be a nod to the Queen.

She is joining Zara and Mike’s other 4-year-old daughter, Mia Grace.

Lena Elizabeth was born at Stroud Maternity Unit in Gloucestershire and weighed 9 lbs 3 oz (4.2kg) according to the Palace.

She is believed to be the heaviest royal in recent years, a title that was held by Zara’s niece, Savannah Phillips for 8 years.

It’s pretty obvious where Lena Elizabeth’s second name came from, but why ‘Lena’ as the first?

According to the spokesperson: "The name is Lena Elizabeth. It was just a name they liked."

"Just like for first daughter Mia Grace, Zara and husband Mike Tindall have chosen a contemporary moniker for the baby's first name and a heritage counterweight for the second name.

"Lena is a pretty and contemporary name, which is rocketing in popularity, up from 823rd to 138th in position in the last ONS figures.

"This is partly due to the popularity of millennial writer Lena Dunham and actress Lena Headey."

"Elizabeth is, of course, a homage to Zara's grandmother the Queen and a traditional royal name favoured for generations. It adds weight and substance to the more contemporary choice of Lena.

"Elizabeth is always in the top 100 chart for girls' names and although it has slipped from 26 to 38 in recent years, Zara's choice should spark a mini-revival by reminding people how elegant and versatile it is.”
