August 22 is the day to go outdoors at midday and yell "Hoodie Hoo!" to chase away winter and help usher in spring. A similar "holiday" is supposedly practiced in the Northern Hemisphere, in February.
This new custom seems to have come from a website specialising in registering (making-up?) bizarre holidays from around the worldÂ
