Every night, Ken Benbow would go to sleep with a treasured photograph of his beloved late wife Ada by his side.

However, his devoted carer Kia Tobin was worried he would get hurt if the glass in the metal picture frame shattered.

So she hatched a plan to give him a safer memento to hold close to his chest.

Surprising Ken, the 17-year-old gifted the war veteran a custom-made pillow with his late wife's face on it - and he was overcome with emotion.

Ken and Ada were married for 71 years before she passed away last August.

The tender moment was captured on video and later posted to Thistleton Lodge Care Home's Facebook page.

"We know our residents are missing their loved ones at this time but let's not forget those who sadly aren't here with us anymore," the care home posted on Facebook.
