Netflix have just released the trailer for Beverly Hills Cop 4

Prepare to have the ’80s synth tones of the Beverly Hills Cop theme song stuck in your head again because Netflix has just released the trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F!

Fourty years after the release of the first film, Eddie Murphy is back for the fourth instalment in the series as Detective Axel Foley, back on the beat in Beverly Hills.

After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.

Earlier this year, Eddie spoke to People about what it was like returning to the franchise decades later.

“It’s a really physical movie and I had to do some physical stuff,” he said. “I like to be on the couch, I don’t like to be jumping over and shooting and running. And I had to do some jumping and shooting and running. And as a result … at the end of the movie, I had a knee brace and my back is messed up. But the movie is gonna be special.”

Joseph shared earlier this year, “Going to work on ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ isn’t like work. You think my life is a dream. I’m riding in a helicopter next to Eddie Murphy, and we’re making each other laugh.”

We don't yet know when the movie will be released, but it's currently looking like mid-2024.
