One-toed heels are the new shoe trend ... and we really don't understand it!

Hot off the back of G-string bike shorts, designers are taking their foot fetish a step further with one-toe shoes ...

And yes, it literally looks how it sounds.

Starting the "edgy" trend, Parisian streetwear brand Y/Project are now selling heels that expose your big toe.

The footwear, which are being sold for over $1,000, is part of the brand's spring/summer '19 collection.

While high-end shopping site Stylebop said the heels were "equal parts feminine cool and fashion-conscious", Australian celebrity stylist Elliott Garnaut branded one-toed heels "foul" and added they were a "senseless fashion faux pas".

Each to their own, we guess!
