Say his name three times and he shall appear... in NZ cinemas from September 5th.
36 years after the original film's release, the long-awaited sequel is finally here with Michael Keaton back as everyone's favourite rambunctious spirit.
Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for the sequel to the 1988 horror-comedy classic earlier today, which will once again be directed by Tim Burton.
The trailer opens with Scream and Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega riding on a bike past Miss Shannon's School for Girls. A children's choir then sings an eerie cover of Jamaican folk song Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) at what appears to be a funeral, attended by Ortega and Beetlejuice alums Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara.

The film's description reads: After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.
With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
