In the trailer, Timothée is wearing Wonka's iconic getup - brown top hat and a snazzy purple velvet coat - as he sweeps into a small town and turns everything chocolate-related upside down, determined to create the “greatest chocolate shop the world has ever seen.”
We also see Timothée having a conversation with none other than Hugh Grant, who portrays an Oompa Loompa, much to the delight of viewers.
One viewer commented on YouTube "I never thought Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa would be the best thing I'd ever seen until now"
Directed by Paul King, the genius behind the Paddington movies, and written by Simon Rich, Wonka promises a scrumdiddlyumptious adventure.
Alongside Timothée and Hugh Grant, the film features a star-studded cast including Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Jim Carter, Matt Lucas, and Sally Hawkins as Wonka's mother.
WONKA will be in cinemas from December 14, 2023.
