Anne Hegerty reveals how she discovered that she was autistic

Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty has spoken about her struggles with Asperger's in the past, and how she dealt with it, but she has now revealed how she discovered that she had it in the first place.

During an interview on the UK show 'Loose Women', Anne describes her self-diagnosis in detail.

"Around about 2003 I happened to see a TV programme about little autistic boys, and something about it kind of clicked," Anne said.

"There's something about the way that those boys are behaving that reminds me of me now, and me as a child," she continued.

As well as talking about her self-diagnosis, Anne also revealed how she got given her nickname on the show, and how she landed the starring role on The Chase.
