The Chase host Bradley Walsh surprised fans during a recent episode of the show after he decided to steer away from the show rules.

Facing off against Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha, the first three budding contestants were knocked out the competition during the cash builder round.

Left by himself to try and win some cash, Rob was left struggling when the time came to make a decision about what jackpot he could be walking away with.

With none of his team on the studio floor to give him advice, Bradley decided to help the lone contestant and for the first time in the show's history asked the axed contestants who were watching off-screen whether Rob should take the higher or lower amount.

Before speaking with the axed contestants, Paul said to Rob: "I have a feeling you’ve come here to win big money."

"Shall I ask my team?" Rob jokingly asked in return.

"I'll ask the team," Bradley replied, before cupping his hands and shouting out to those who were watching from the sidelines.

"What do you reckon he should do?" the host questioned.

To which a voice from the distance said: "Go high."

After agreeing with his team and deciding to go high, Rob was then set to make history if he had won the final chase on his own with £80,000 to play for.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be as Paul defeated his opponent with over 30 seconds to spare.
