TV host shaking, in tears after on-air April Fool's prank

If you think you're having a rough time this April Fools, spare a thought for UK TV host Holly Willoughby, who was left in tears after her co-hosts stitched her up live on air.

Willoughby, who hosts popular breakfast show This Morning, was brought to tears after enduring the guest appearance from hell.

Willoughby believed a guest was on the show to receive a glamorous makeover ahead of a school reunion, having been nominated for the opportunity by her "husband".

But the guest burst into tears when she saw herself in gaudy makeup, a crushed velvet pink dress and white cowboy boots, forcing Willoughby to keep a straight face as she tried to assure the guest they could do the makeover again to get it right.

The cameras then followed the guest and her husband as they got into a car — which promptly crashed with an impressive explosion.

The incident - understandably - threw Willoughby off and she quickly tried to cut to an add break. It was only then that her co-host Phillip Schofield revealed it was actually an April Fools gag.

Willoughby was visibly shaking and revealed: "Oh my God, I was panicking so much. I was really panicking, oh my God, you b — I can't swear."

Between this and Justin Bieber's April Fools faux pas, the end of April Fools season can't come soon enough.
